WIN - Widows Information Network

The WIN program was formed to provide Widows in the Welland, Ontario area with the information and support necessary to more easily cope with the complex issues surrounding their new status.

This program was designed by a recent widow overwhelmed with the amount of documents needing attention during a  tremendously difficult time of loss and grieving. The program objective is that as widows of all ages and all walks of life come together, learn and network, they will go from a devastated, negative position to feeling capable and supported - empowered to prevail and go forward with their lives - with confidence.

Monthly sessions on a wide variety of pertinent topics such as : Finance, Legal Responsibilities, Health, Personal Safety, Family Dynamic, Home Repair Basics, Real Estate and Travel Opportunities will be presented by female professionals in each field.

Bereavement Sessions will be made available for those who wish them (on a separate, weekly basis).

WIN is being offered as a community outreach of Faith Tabernacle but it is not necessary to be a Christian to attend this program.  Widows from all faiths and cultures are welcome to attend.

WIN will take place on the first Tuesday of each month at Faith Tabernacle (South Pelham Road, Welland) - in their Café (coffee and tea will be provided). There will be no charge for the monthly sessions - the basic program. ( There may be a charge for the separate Bereavement Sessions for professional counsellors’ fees. However, every effort will be made to keep costs at a minimum.)
